Keeping Vacant Houses safe
Shannon has a great idea in her blog below. What a great idea to not only keep your vacant short sale listing safe, but as a way to meet the neighbors, and potentially develop a new client base.
Here in Northern California we have had a problem with keeping vacant houses safe.
I always tell my short sale owners to stay in the home until the close of escrow because
it is easier to secure a occupied home than unoccupied.
We have had several problems with the vacant homes such as con artist trying
to lease them, kids breaking in and having parties to very extreme vandalism.
One idea my team uses to keep vacant homes safe is to go to all of the neighbors
and ask if they will park their car in the driveway while the home is on the market
and we will buy them dinner.
It is one of those Keller William WinWin deals!
Homes are safe and neighbors are happy. They might even use you the next time they
want to buy or sell.
