I just finished a facebook business page geared toward (noone other than) real estate. I've gotten some invaluable help already from some of my colleagues here on Active Rain. I'm looking for big things with it.

I love coming onto facebook, and am rather addicted to it.

I friend many of my "prospects", past clients, fellow realtors, etc.  I post items about real estate and about activities in Columbus as my "professional" side.  Also I fool around a little as I have friends and family on here too.  I just don't say anything to silly, use profanity, or anything like that.

Jim: welcome aboard the Facebook train!

Earl: that's a lot of friends.  are they all on your personal page?  if yes, also make a fan page where you can request your 'friends' to join that page where you talk alot about real estate.  That's what I do.  I don't talk too much about real estate on my personal page.  Also, I don't have other Realtors as my friends on my personal page. (since they would never pay my mortgage.)

Dale: if you're still having problems, I'd delete everything and start over again, if not too much trouble.

Gerry: looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Facebook should not be intimidating. What I have found is that if you just join in with the flow, be positive, submit a good mix of fun and serious thoughts, don't react to "weirdness" people will start telling you they enjoy your postings. And hopefully one day when needed you will become their realtor of choice.

I like Face Book for marketing.... in fact I am closing on my second and third lead from Face Book this month!

Okay it has been since April that I posted above and the new Face Book is in full force.

And I am not happy. In the past I could check in for 15 minutes on four or five occasions a day hit a couple of likes...make one or two comments and was done! That was time management for me. I could multi-task while waiting in line for my coffee. Or anywhere I had a minute or two to spare...Now not so much.

Who here likes the new Face Book? Not me.

Dan: I am a self-taught Facebooker so I'm glad to find this group. I guess I'm a little late to the party. I'm looking forward to learning through others and hopefully, contributing helpful information as well.

I like the fact that I can add the symbol "@" and then the persons name and all of their friends will see what comment I have left them. I like that mass media effect. I don't use that feature much. However, I am told that this does not work with an iPhone.

Sussie Isn't @ Twitter?  On Facebook if you start typing a friends name in FB will complete it.  Then they will know that you are addressing them.

by using @ on Twitter they will know you are addressing them, their friends can follow the conversation.
