Black Friday carries over to Black Saturday.

We know that yesterday was Black Friday and people were in lines before 4:00 a.m.  I can't imagine wanting anything personally bad enough to go that early to a store.  The lines must be sorta like those big tailgate parties that they have on the parking lots before football games.  I avoid those too but lots of people think they are fun.

But I do believe, according to how little my phone has rung today, that it carried over to today.  I do believe that the ones with energy left went to the malls and decided to shop til they dropped.  Me?  I just curled up with a book.  Not a book that is enjoyable, however.  It's called "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and describes our country or world (I'm only half way through) after something has happened to destroy everything.  My assumption is that it is a nuclear war that has happened but as I said, I'm only half way through.  It was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize so I know I'm learning a lot from it.

Hopefully, things will be normal on Monday.  Work will be frantic and we'll be able to look forward to the next Holidays.  Happy Black Saturday to all of you.

I just love the down times when we actually can get away from our phones!  there aren't too many days in the year when we have no calls!  I don't like excessive days off, but a few here and there are a gift!!  Have fun with your book!

I bought a christmas tree yesterday and showed houses today.  I made the mistake of trying to visit Circuit City in the morning.  It wasn't any fun and I won't participate in "Black Friday" again.  I'll shop online from now on.

I never shop on the weekend after Thanksgiving!  Aside from a few good deals, the crowds are just too thick, parking is too far away, and I have better things to do!

I would not wait in line if they were giving away free money. I have very little patience for lines. So  am amused at the explanation people give for doing it. Please, Pleeze, (lol) nothing is that important unless it related to life, health or true happiness.

To those that are inspired to, I say with one life to live, go at it and I hope the merchants appreciate it.
