I received an email from Brian Block a few weeks ago letting me know that he and his wife would be in Boca Raton visiting his parents for the week of Thanksgiving. He invited me and Nestor to lunch with him and his wife.
We chose a top notch sidewalk restaurant in Delray Beach Florida close to the beach called, City Oyster. The food is fantastic there and has received rave reviews in the local magazines and newspapers.
We were driving by the restaurant looking for a parking place when I spotted Brian and his wife sitting at one of the outdoor tables. I am amazed at how much he looks like his Active Rain profile.
Our lunch appointment was for 1:00 p.m. Brian introduced me to his wife Debra and instantly we felt a connection. We started talking while Nestor and Brian were talking. Deborah and I have so many similar beliefs and ideals it was amazing. We ended up talking for 4 hours!
We had a great time learning more about Brian and his wife. Brian really knows his area in Alexandria Virginia. I love to learn about different parts of the country and the world so I was asking all kinds of questions about where he lives. We would feel quite comfortable in referring our clients to Brian Block.
Deborah is a world traveled dance instructor who owns her own dance studio and teaches Ball Room dancing, right up my alley! We talked about homeschooling which is what they are seriously considering when they have children and Deborah has the same reasons I have for doing so. Her family was also from Lithuania as mine is from Latvia. It never ceases to amaze me how small this world is and how much we can connect through our similar interests and beliefs. We even talked politics and were in agreement on issues and I rarely talk politics with someone I just met!
We are looking forward to meeting more Active Rain members in the near future. And when we get to Washington D.C. we know that Brian and Deborah will show us a great time!
