The area of Lake Balboa is hot for flips right now because it’s full of bungalows built in the 40s and 50s. Many of the homes hadn’t been updated until now, so they still had old fashioned bathrooms and kitchens. However, in the last year or so I’ve seen a lot of homes being renovated, some of them significantly and here is an example. The work that was done was both functional and aesthetic. A large addition was added to increase the square footage and add on two more bathrooms. Here are the before and after photos.
The kitchen before the remodel was most likely the original kitchen to the house. Many of the homes in this area have the same tile and cabinets seen here, which was the style of the 50s. The door pictured above led to a laundry room which exited to the back of the house.
The remodeled kitchen has closed off the laundry room (which is now a bathroom) with new cabinets topped with granite counters. The old kitchen had room for a small table and chairs before, now the enlarged dining room has a large opening right up to the kitchen. Would you have done this differently?
