I post up the Oklahoma City and Edmond Real Estate Statistics every month, and every month so far I've had some very positive information to share. This month is no different. In fact, we saw a slight increase in activity in October over September. A few months ago, that wouldn't have been anything to point out, because it was the norm, but the past few months we have experienced a minor slow-down; some of it due to a slowing market and some simply due to the time of year.
The following chart shows the monthly Oklahoma City Metropolitan Real Estate statistics for October 2007 as compared to September 2007 and October 2006.

As you can see, the total transactions closed is lower than this time last year, but slightly up from last month. Here's the great part though; even with all the negativity out there about the real estate market, our average closing price has increased substantially in both comparisons, with a 9% appreciation rate over this time last year!
