ActiveRain is a very classy act! (Did you see this last night?)

What have YOU noticed about the NEW ActiveRain?

    — i.e. new since Thursday, 2/16/2012 —

  • Please leave your comments, and I will also log mine, below.

  • Be constructive, be a good citizen, and be considerate toward the developers — who will work with any complaints.

  • Share your appreciation about whatever you like about the new AR experience, too.

Thanks for taking good care of us, ActiveRain! This stuff is not easy.

(I should know, because as a Systems Engineer, and IT Development Manager,
back in the 1970s — 1990s for some large "mission-critical" systems...
I had responsibility for some big upgrades and database migrations.)

I am eagerly looking forward to seeing and using all the new stuff!

Please add your comments below, and I wlll add new links here, as I find them, on any new ActiveRain features?
  • Links will be added here, as they are found, please check back!
  • It may be the case, upgrades of the back-end system may not be so visible.
  • A performance improvement of 25% can help us all, but is nearly imperceptible to most users.

Here is a screen shot I made last night:

The text reads:

We're working behind the curtains to improve ActiveRain…

It's hard to wait, but new features, bug-fixes, and other goodies are coming soon!

That was what I saw between about 8pm Wednesday night and 2am Thursday morning...

Which looks so much better than something like this:

ActiveRain is not available?

The SECOND DownTime event was not publicized or REblogged and I am still wondering why they don't just E-MAIL us when they need to do these events?

For those who actually lost their work, all I can say is DO YOUR BLOG DRAFTS IN YOUR GMAIL.....always there in DRAFT

ActiveRain STATUS-Board, or CHANGE-Log?

Does anybody know the URL, if one exists, for an
ActiveRain STATUS-Board, or CHANGE-Log??

With about 250,000 registered users, there is clearly a need for that.

Wallace — I am looking for (but not yet finding) a status board or a list of changes, somewhere, for the ActiveRain blogging platform.

Lyn — The email notifications (i.e. Notify me of new comments) are down at this time, which means, if you get comments, you won't be notified, as you would usually get in your email. (Pro-Tip: Check your recent posts for comments that you may want to respond to.)

I also thought that ActiveRain was being very slow on Thursday morning, but tracked it down to an unrelated network problem.

Let it Rain!

Hi George - Thanks for the understanding words.  We did a bunch of testing before the move but until it actually happened we had no way to forecast other issues that may arise.  We had a team of 100 working behind the scenes testing and it helped us iron out some kinks but obviously not all.  The AR post is one we use to keep everyone upt-to-date, Facebook and Twitter.  We also sent out an email to make everyone aware of the scheduled downtime.

We're always listening and your idea is one I intend to bring to the table.

Thanks!

Hi Kerrie, Thanks for your reply!

This is the closest thing I can find to a "change-log" or "status-board" at this time:

The Official ActiveRain Blog

Also. the AR email NOTIFICATIONS seems not to be working since the update of last weekend?
