I don't remember the exact wording of adverse possession in Maryland (where I am from) but it was not as easy as they make it out to be for Boulder.  In Maryland, the grabber had to make a hostile take over by overt usage of the property, they had to pay the taxes on said property, and they had to do so without the permission of the property owner, and some other things which I don't recall at this time.  It seemed almost impossible for a land grab to take place unless the owner was not near the property and didn't pay attention to his tax bill.

This land grab sounds fishy to me as it is a sitting judge giving the land to a former judge and a lawyer.  I would do a lot of research on this law, (if it is a law), and look for precidents.

Lee,

It sounds fishy to me as well, I'll keep you updated on the out come, but I think the Colorado government should look in to this situation.
