To stage or not to stage...

By
Real Estate Agent with Jennifer Lewis Homes

I've always been a fan of staging.  Because it's a tight market and every home needs some sort of an edge to appeal more than the competition, I encourage more and more of my clients to invest in a complete home staging.  Due to the price, however, many people believe the return can't be that great on the investment.

Question no more, I've just witnessed the perfect case study for staging.

My client had their house listed with another Realtor for 4 months.  For the first 2 months, their furniture was in the home, for the second two months, the home was empty.  Over the 4 months, they did not receive any offers and their listing agreement expired with their Realtor.

My clients signed an agreement with me to sell their home.  We listed the home for the same price as the other Realtor.  This time, my clients had the entire home staged.  The home was staged on Thursday and we had a contract the following Monday.  Wow.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Congratulations on the fast sale! .....was it staging or  was it a new pretty face?

That's awesome!  It's stories like these that will get your future listing staged.  You should get a testimonial from the seller stating they feel the staging was instrumental to the sale of the home.

Well if that isn't proof that staging works I don't know what is! (Or was it because of a superior agent?)
