Kitty vs. Puppy

So, who gets to claim the toys?

puppy and cat

Answer:  It depends on QUEEN Scratch's mood.  Scratch is the cat.  Little Peppy is the poodle puppy.  He's got lots of hair to keep him safe if she has to "enforce her rules"

Alright, since this is a real estate site, I guess I should mention real estate.  Notice the stained concrete floor in the background.  Although the fuzz and dust show up on against the dark color, stained concrete makes a nice, attractive, floor for those of us living in the country.  I'm starting to doubt that I'll ever be able to control all the dirt and grass that Little Peppy brings into the house.  Unless I shave him that is.  My cats shed and it is really noticable on this floor.  It makes me wonder how much gets stuck in carpets that we don't really notice.

I am voting for the kitten. I have seen my cats take on huskies without an ounce of fear while the dog just stood there perplexed.

We used to own a cat (hah!  she owned us, truth to tell) named Eartha Kitten.  I once heard screaming outside the house, and rushed out to see her beating the heck out of a German Shepherd who made the mistake of approaching the house in which there was a litter of kittens (not hers, but her grandkittens - she took a personal interest in the welfare of ALL kittens, however).  The German Shepherd was trying desperately to get away - he was who I heard screaming.  I'm betting on the cat, myself.

Wow, against a German Shepherd.  That is one bold cat.

She was, indeed.  Before we were married, my husband went on an out of state trip for several weeks and left Eartha with me. I lived in a downstairs duplex, and the woman upstairs had 9 cats, including the litter of kittens who were old enough to come outside on a pretty summer's day.  There was a Siamese tom across the street who liked to come over and harrass the kittens.  Then Eartha moved in.  First day she was outside, he came across the street, she watched him intently.  Left him alone until he headed for one of the kittens, and then suddenly she was between him and the kitten.  She said something - I don't know what, but the way he acted, I suspect it had to do with singing soprano - and he turned and tiptoed back across the street and never came back on our side for any reason whatsoever while she was there.   Like I said, she took a personal interest in the welfare of all kittens.

Tricia,

What a cat.  You're cats have had some intersting names and they've obviously held some special places in your heart.
