Thought and Circumstance

I like to read motivational books, but they need to be short.  With all the new titles hitting the shelves, and "THE SECRET" being spouted on Oprah, I decided to go old school.

My dad gave me a book that he had when he was in college.  It is titled "As A Man Thinketh" by James Allen.  It is a collection of thoughts on how we shape ourselves.

Here is one thought -

"Man is buffeted by curcumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which cicumstances grow, then he becomes the rightful master of himself."

What we think is what creates our circumstances due to our automatic actions based on thoughts.

What are you thinking?  What is your mindset?  Are you positive, negative, indifferent?  Are you creating your own circumstances?

 I hope you enjoyed!

Hey Ken,

I just got back from the Hobbs/Herder Seminar in Las Vegas. My wife won it in a contest and everything was paid for. We got a copy of "Hard Optimism" at the seminar and it was excellent.  After reading this book, it is impossible to be a pessimist anymore! The advantages and payoffs for being an eternal optimist are so great that it makes absolutely no sense to spend a second of one's time complaining about the current real estate market. Put together a plan and be the best you can be every single day!
