Working Harder and Making Less?

By
Real Estate Agent with Branson House Realty 2003032011
The bad news press over the past year plus buyers dragging their feet has sure taken it's toll on real estate agents. At least in our market we have people wanting to move to Branson Mo, since it's one of the top vacation spots in the nation. Right now I have a couple from California, a couple from Witchia KS looking for vacation property among other buyers and a long list of listings and a long list of prospects. I think more agents are working harder than ever before to just get something closed. This is my 4th year and I think the market has been on a down slide since I started. Will we have more of the same in 2008? Will we have to get through the election year to make people comfortable about spending again?  I've seen agents here almost on the brink of quiting. But most are hanging in there for the long haul, while the less experienced ones drop out. I've worked too hard to quit and I'm not going anywhere. But at times you feel you are spinning your wheels. I was wondering what is working for agents right now, and how other ones are making it??

Hang in there, This is a great business, now you just have to work about five times harder to make things happen. It is still a great business with great opportunity Good luck

I have been lucky to work with a few repeat customers, and friends this year.  The new buyers are harder to find.  I would suggest to keep your past clients very close, connect with them, as some might be ready to sell by now.
