Adjunct to Kitchen and Bath Facelifts

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Keller Williams Realty STL

For about 25 years, I have been calling on my friend Leslie Ayers for advice before putting homes on the market.  She has never failed to make a significant difference in the sale$$$time factor in the homes she has helped with.  Leslie is the owner of L.A. Business Group, designers and stagers.

Here are 2 before pictures of a kitchen Leslie just did for one of her clients:

Before picture kitchen Makeover

This kitchen had indoor-outdoor carpet, oak cabinets (but the cabinets were good quality), dated wallpaper, yellow tile backsplash, generally needed an upgrade. Leslie suggested that the owners install wood floors in the kitchen and family room. Before picture kitchen Makeover

Then L.A Business Group painted the cabinets. They painted the backsplash white and the kitchen and family room walls a new color. In addition, Leslie installed a new light fixture and cabinet pulls. Then they staged both rooms. Walla! quite a change! After Minor Kitchen Facelift

Here are some pictures of very modest changes to a bathroom.

Basically this bath had old whitewash cabinets with a slight pink cast. Leslie chose a new paint color, new light fixtures, new cabinet knobs. A huge difference for a very small outlay of money.

Now that's worth the effort and cost.  What a difference and I wish I had her talents.  I use stagers but probably not as often as I should.

I just love what this gal has done for me over the years.  Sometimes she and I have just rearranged the furniture in a home to make it look totally different.

A rose by any other name is a rose. I am sure it helps, but the buyers are usually looking at the age of the kitchen, the age of appliances, condition of cabinets. etc.

You can fool some of the people some of the time..... but...

That said, I agree.

I love selling houses!!!St. Louis, MO 314-703-1311

It was a huge change- yes I think it helps sell a house!  I wish some of my clients would listen- I usually tell them to do similiar things- but in the end it is always up to the seller...
