Wordless Wednesday - Skiing For Everyone!
I was looking through some older photos and came across these of our 13 year old son, Sam. Three years ago, Sam broke his leg skiing, but even that didn't end his ski season. He had the opportunity at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort to try out the "sit-ski", a ski developed for and used by the disabled, who have limited use of their legs. It was an especially poignant experience for him and us because Mel used to be the treasurer of Skiforall (now Outdoorsforall), a non-profit organization providing outdoor recreation for the disabled, a cause we both became passionate about. It's such a great program, enriching the lives of adults and kids with disabilities by allowing them to experience the joys of outdoor recreation that the rest of us take for granted.
