I Go Nowhere Without My Camera!

I Go Nowhere without my camera.

Just read a featured post by Jeff Dowler ... your camera ...a best friend.

This is especially true in real estate.

                                                  my camera

My camera goes everywhere with me and it is definitely my best friend.  I remember to keep a charger with me at all times.

Just today on a listing appointment, after taking photos of the Baltimore home, my camera was a portable copier. Took a photo of the plat and driver's license so I would have seller's ID in my file.

Then I went to a lecture and took photos of the speaker, her signature to me in her  book and her slide presentation.

After that, it was  out to lunch where I photographed the waitress, the restaurant and, of course, the food. All of the above will be future blogs.

My camera is a  great tool  for the memory. I take a close up of the house numbers and street signs. No forgetting which property the photos belong with.

About a year ago I was thinking about having my camera ready in Baltimore. There was a time when I  made picture words with my camera.

Thanks to Jeff for the inspiration. I go nowhere without my camera!

I agree, I'm starting to do this very thing, carry it everywhere, because you just never know. Plus pictures have away of finding you on the net.

What a good tip. I always have my camera in the car but from now on I will keep it in my purse or use my cell phone camera more often. I have tried in the past to take picures when I'm out showing properties particularly on the beachfront and then I can add them to my web site.

Thanks for the reblog, Margaret. The camera these days really IS an indispensible tool and we should never leave home without it (to quasi-quote Amex).

I find having my camera encourages me to pay more attention to the world around me AND to take time to do so.

Hi Margaret, I am with you and Jeff. My camera goes with me every where these days. I want to be ready for anything, and it gives me those opportunities to make more videos too.

Margaret- mine is always in my purse, not just for photos for my blog.  When I'm on a Staging consultation I take photos of the rooms but I also take pics of areas that need to be addressed.... worn carpeting, overgrown shrubs, etc.  It's easier than trying to write it down.

Me either! Today I took pictures of a house that I previewed for some out of town buyers, went by a home that I am negotiating a contract on, shot a photo of it -- with the hopes of doing a sale pending post on it soon, zoomed by the library and got a shot of the new entrance and patio for the grand opening post I wrote today. My camera is WAY more important than the AMEX card. I try NEVER to leave home without it! ☺

Margaret...

I use my camera to record everything from FSBO yard signs to documents. It's the handiest little memory aid ever invented!

Hi Margaret - When I began blogging seriously, I found that having my camera with me at all times was important.  If I can't have my camera, I do always have my phone and a flip video camera with me- they stay in my purse wherever I go.

Although I have a 7 megapixel water proof (to 10 feet) Pentax camera, and it has served me well, even does video, but my Samsung phone does 8 mega pixel and HD video.  I even found a TRIPOD for the phone.  What a world we are in today.

I always have the best intentions but somehow wind up forgetting mine most of the time.  My phone is always with me, but it doesn't take the best photos.  ;~(

That's great advice. And almost all cameras now have the ability to shoot short videos which are increasing important in marketing in today's world.

Donald, Always be prepared.

Susan, It is a must when you are a blogger.

Bruce, You are making photography work for you.

Debbie, Just need to look in the camera to see what I've done that day.

Roger, Don't use the phone camera unless there is an emergency.

Sally, Only if I forget my car keys and license would I not have my camera.
