Staging Tips to Sell Your Home

Real Estate Agent with DWELL Real Estate

When deciding whether or not to sell your home, there are considerations to be made; what should I list at? How’s the market looking? And how should the home is staged? This is an important move for you and your family so you should consider how much time and effort that you are willing to put in the sale of your home.

An important fact when selling your home is does the home present well, you want the home to be desirable and staging the home will give perspective buyers a look at how it can look completely decorated. There are agencies that will come to your home advise you on how you should stage your home for viewing purposes, some of these companies will also personally stage the home for you. This can take all the trouble out of your hands and will potentially sell your home quickly. You should be aware that this type of service call be costly.

Another factor that you should consider is depersonalizing the home, by removing personal photos and getting rid of some of your own personal clutter will make your home desirable and roomier. When people come to view your home sometimes it’s hard to look past the clutter and it could kill a potential sale. When people view homes for sale they have a tendency to open drawers and cabinets, as well as, checking out closets for space. Make sure that you clean the home of all the clutter that may deter potential buyers. The first thing that captures buyers is your curb appeal; you may want to consider landscaping either yourself or hire someone to come out to make the outside of your home to draw people in. If your home is not appealing outside then people may assume the inside is not much better.

When you are deciding on what parts of the home you should put the most focus on remember that kitchens and bathrooms can make or break a potential sell. If you have extra money to put into the home then you may want to consider putting the extra cash in your kitchen and bath. If you can’t afford a huge makeover don’t worry most kitchens and bathrooms can be easily made presentable with some paint, knobs for the cabinets and a good cleaning.

Staging your home can be challenging and daunting, but it can increase the odds of selling your home in a timely manner. Putting in a small amount of money and elbow grease can do wonders for the home before putting it on the market.
