What a Difference a Day Makes in Prospect CT......24 Little Hours

Crestbrook Park Watertown CT

We have had virtually no winter at all, here in Prospect CT. A fluke storm on Halloween which, wasn’t really winter, gave us all the dread that we were in for a season that would have made last year seem mild. But it hadn’t happened. We have had record mild temps, with very little snow.

In fact just a day ago our golf course opened all holes, and I played hooky, actually golf, and plans were being made to get out for a quick go around this weekend, after I had attended to my real estate clients here in Prospect CT.

When I woke up this morning and tried to head out to get the newspaper, I was surprised that we had a visit over the night. I know back in early February, that groundhog predicted another 6 weeks of winter, but if it was going to be like it was for the first part, then bring it on.

Mother Nature didn’t like us mocking one of her creatures, so just gave us a slap on the hand, about 3 wet inches of a slap. Not enough to do big damage, but just enough to say maybe you’ll back to the links in early March and be thankful for that.

It was 70 here yesterday and though we don't have any snow predicted supposedly some wicked winds are headed our way.  Stay warm and thankful you aren't trying to find a golf ball on the course today.

Cindy, the past couple of days were just below 60 and last night this came in to close everything up until it melts away

Amy, this snow was for a couple that just relocated from FL and were hoping to see snow. I hope they are happy.

What an amazing difference that much snow can make to the landscape, Ed.  It seems so many parts of the country are experiencing unusual weather patterns.

Hi Ed,

I love it!!!!  What a cool transformation.  I will say I am happy we are snow free and really don't want any until next December, however... if we got dumped on, I would embrace it and love it.

Ed, it's beautiful, but it does make finding that little white ball a little challenging.  I used to play a course in  Illinois that was pretty much open year round...we played with the orange balls...not that it helped much...it gave us something to talk about anyway!!
