Is Picnik now on Google+ as Creative Kit?
Is Picnik now on Google+ as Creative Kit? I was catching up on ActiveRain and read a comment to my post Please, Don’t Close Picnik! that said “they are trying to force us to use Google+.” It didn’t make any sense to me so I went to Picnik to read the closing notice again and sure enough …. “We are excited to bring even more photo-editing fun to Google products, like Google+, where you can find many of your favorite Picnik effects. Just look under Creative Kit.”
So now I’m full of questions and random thoughts. Is it really a big deal? I’m happy to still have photo-editing tools I can use and I don’t have to continue to look for something else. As an avid blogger, I want to focus on my writing & not have to spend time learning another software application.
Would it be better for Google just to say, hey folks we are moving the photo-editing to Google+? Should my perception be that it was done on the sly instead of straight forward? Is Google+ just another social network that offers many if not all the options as facebook? Should Facebook have some healthy competition? Why ask us/users to sign a petition to save Picnik? I’m sure there is a lot behind the scenes we don’t know. It’s difficult to answer the questions without all the details. Like I said, random thoughts and questions. What do you think?
