Google AdWords are ads that are served by Google's pay-per-click program and can help you earn a little extra cash from your blog. It's easy to add these to the right panel of your blog.
- Setup an AdSense account from https://www.google.com/adsense/
- Go to AdSense setup and choose AdSense for content and choose the ad type you would like (text only, images,link ads, etc.).
- The wizard makes it easy for you to customize your ad unit colors so they match your blog. For your ActiveRain blog, we suggest choosing the Wide Skyscraper size.
- On the choose channel screen we suggest you create an ActiveRain channel so you can later track how many clicks are coming from your AR blog. We like to create different channels for each site we place AdWords on.
- The last step of the wizard will display code for you to post into your blog. Paste this in your "Blog Description" text area under your AR "My Settings" option.
You can see AdWords displayed in the right panel of our blog. When visitors click the ads from your blog you can make a couple cents or maybe a couple dollars per click.
