Does your stocking hold "promise"

Sure 2006 was a year of contradictions, a very strong stock and bond market, while real estate was mixed and even dropping in a few regionals markets.  Sure home builders got socked on the nose, I guess as a payback for supporting the economy and creating jobs during the last five years.

I noticed that the GDP was reportedly 1-1.5% lower just due to construction and home building related job losses and contraction.  So much for the talk about home building not really being a big deal.

Frankly, home building may end up being the last manufacture in the United States.  Most every other product can be built elsewhere for less and sent here.  HMMM, when do modulars really get their legs?

Good article suggesting that the bloggers at least see 2007 improving.

Manufactured Housing Institue tracks the statistics, Synergy Homes isn't a modular or manufactured builder but I wonder, when will overseas labor be able to produce a house that really puts us in our place?

I digress.  I sure see some huge successes brewing for 2007.

In our local market, forces aligned against government largess may have won some small battles even though the Democrats won a bunch of seats and power.  It's a weird mix, the Democrats complaining that the Republicans are spending too much ... The Republicans trying to sell every monopoly they can.

Looks good at least in the short term for local interest rates and ratings and for tax rates which are have been kept at decent levels in Porter County Indiana.

Merry Christmas, hope your stocking is as full of potential as I feel mine is.  Looking forward to big recoveries in 2007.
