I have read a lot about maple trees and I am fascinated by the process of how the trees are tapped to give us that incredible pancake topper, maple syrup.  This sounds like fun. A

Deb the first time I saw those container on the trees I was puzzled as to why people were  doing it, then I found out that is how maple syrup is gathered.

The Maple Sugar festival should be well attended, a campfire sounds wonderful.

Debra, I would love to experience that.  Because you've had such a mild winter, will the sap still turn?  I always thought it came out when the freezing weather stopped and the sap thawed out?  I can see I need to do some research, which I love do to.  

Debra- this looks like so much fun, especially the part with the hot chocolate and maple treats!  

Debbie, I have never been, but it certainly looks like fun. It is close by, so i'll have to see if I can make it this year.

Debra my friend, Maple Sugaring Festivals sure are mighty fun to attend! This upcoming one there in Orange County sure does offer folks a mighty fine time. The Sugaring House here have not started theirs different ones yet.

Debbie the farm down the street from me produces their own maple syrup, so I guess I will be seeing the buckets hanging from the trees real soon.

Sounds like a lot of fun.  I would love to tap some maple syrup for pancakes -- that photo looks delicious!

All we ever use is real maple syrup around here.  They can keep the other fructose, ick-tose syrup. 

They tap trees around here, too, of course.  But, I have never watched the process.  Thanks for an informative post!

Debbie, thanks for the post, now I know the sources of syrup are by tapping and collecting from maple trees.
