A tribute to General Patton

General Patton, we called him Pat, passed away this year.  Pat was our  14  year old Corgi and the son of a National champion Corgi. He was an only child ...yep from a litter of 1.   Corgis are great little dogs that have unbelievable heart and bravery for their size.  They resemble a sawed off German Shepard. Pat was a wonderful and faithful dog.

When Old Pat left this world, we searched for another dog. By chance I saw a photo and ad for Corgi pups on the counter of a local boot store .  We set up a meeting with the owner .  Well , we left that day with not one...but two pups. They were twin sisters...Abbey and Pickles.

Gosh they are fun. But we will always miss old Pat.

Sorry for your loss, but good for you for jumping back in! Says a lot about Corgis that you got two more! I think they are such happy looking little dogs, with those big ears!!!

Hi Trey:  I am sorry for the loss of your Corgi Pat.  It is so hard to lose a pet whose love for us is so unconditional.  I am glad for you that you have found Abbey and Pickles.  May they bring you joy.

Trey, I know you will bond with the new ones in time but it is always SO emotional and tragic when our loved pets leave this world.  My Kade is getting older and you will know when she leaves because I'll be crying for weeks.  Don't we get attached?  They love us unconditionally.

Most of us have had a old Pat. I miss my old dog Lady too. It is tough when you loose a pet....

Trey, it is hard when we lose a pet isn't it?  We have an Abby dog also.  Our Abby is an 85 pound chocolate lab, that's with losing 20 pounds because she has a thyroid condition, she was at 105 (we bought the runt). She was supposed to be our sons but she does not realize that she adopted my husband.

Marchel,

You know I always fall for the runts..  they make up for size often with heart.  Sounds like your Abbey loves you guys as much as my yellow lab, Honey, loves us. They sure are great dogs.

Trey, So sorry for. the loss of your sweet Pat, but so happy for the new additions to  your family! My Dessie was with me for almost 16 years, I was so heartbroken when she left us that it was 20 years before I jumped in, now we have Bella the mascot of the group, and I  can't bear the thought of losing her. She's 6 now. We adopted her at 5. Roger and I have talked that we will jump right in when the time comes, i know now I can't really live without a dog.

Here are the 2 sister Corgis we came home with.  They will never replace old Pat but are a bundle of fun.

Trey, so sorry for your loos, I can really understand your loss but really can't put it into words. We lost Peaches our Cairn Terrier a fews years back, and we came home with two more, a bot and a girl. Elijah and Glory are my babies now. Never to take the place, but nevertheless, they captured our hearts and fulfilled a need that no ther could. It is amazing how these adopted "children" can get so close to your heart. Those twin sisters are so cute, love them like you would the old General and they will fulfill your needs as well.
