Nature programs are conducted on the weekends and visitors with a fishing license may fish for trout from the sparkling mountain streams.|

A few miles north of the lake is Fort Mountain State Park. The park offers camping facilities along with miles of challenging hiking trails.|
|•||Lake Allatoona - just 30 minutes southwest of Jasper, it is popular with campers and boaters.|

|•||Mountain Hiking - The Appalachian Trail is the longest and most famous hiking trail in the world, reaching officially from Maine to Springer Mountain in northern Georgia, but the mountains themselves continue to the southwest - the Southern Appalachian Mountains.|
