The clock is ticking as the holidays are rapidly approaching. No doubt you have begun to scurry around for family gifts, but do you also incorporate client gifts into your season's budget?

I have no clue how many agents give holiday gifts. The only thing I do know is that the clients who purchase the largest numbers of closing gifts from me throughout the year also give holiday presents. It is pretty obvious that they have successful marketing plans just from the volume of closing gifts they purchase -- and that their plans include a high level of personal contact.

You need not point out my personal bias towards closing gifts and gift-giving in general. Let's face it -- I manufacture and sell closing gifts. But then, AR is a self-promotional tool for everyone.  What everyone wants to know is what works, and from what I can tell, the agents who provide the most personal interaction seem to be doing well, even in a rough market.

The holidays provide a great opportunity to show warmth, appreciation and good wishes. They are a time when we wish each other good health and prosperity in the upcoming year. Why wouldn't we extend ourselves to our clients? They contribute to our success.

You don't have to give big and expensive gifts. But make it personal and meaningful.  I guarantee your clients will be glad to hear from you and appreciate your kindness.
