I'm PROUD to be an AMERICAN! Remembering Our Brave Soldiers...Let's say 'THANKS'!!!

Real Estate Agent with The Elizabeth Nieves Realty Group

Thanksgiving Day has passed...and Christmas is just around the corner! IF you are like me, December is the busiest month of the year. There is so much to do:  SO many gifts to purchase...SO many decorations to hang...SO many parties to attend...SO much food to cook and eat! In the words of our beloved Christmas carol..."it's the most wonderful time of the year!"

As we enjoy ALL of the warmth and happiness of the season, please let us take a few minutes to remember our brave men and women who are serving our country. Whether we personally know anyone serving in the military or not, we owe them a debt of gratitude. They have given up their freedom to protect ours. They endure hardship and danger so that we can live in comfort and peace. They left their families behind...so that we can hold our loved ones close. THEY ARE HEROES!

Xerox has made it very quick and simple to send a Christmas message to one of our brave soldiers. Please visit this website: http://www.letssaythanks.com/Home1280.html and click on the 'View All Designs' link. From there, you will be able to select the artwork and customize your Christmas greeting. It is so easy...and it takes less than five minutes. Please...will you do it now?

IF you wish to send a care package to a man or woman serving overseas...please visit this website: http://www.give2thetroops.org/

If you are proud to be an American...this video is for YOU!

Elizabeth - I've already done this about 100 times.  There is no doubt that our servicemen and women are sacrificing for us.  For this I am grateful and appreciative.  The families, though not on the front lines, are sacrificing just as much.  May God's blessings be with all.  Merry Christmas!

PS - I love the new photo!  You go, girl!

Elizabeth, I was in the Army, your left, your left, your left, right left, 1972 to 1974 a long time ago! My father was in on the D-Day invasion 6-6-44. And my son has been to Iraq twice already.

Thanks for asking.

Elizabeth-Your post is absolutely beautiful.  It's so exciting to me to see everybody reach out in this way and just imagine with all the blogs and all the people who are reading, what a difference this will all make?  God has put this impression upon so many and with wisdom, many are listening.  The video you have attached brings tears to my eyes.  The smiles on the faces of our troops show us that they really are doing this by completely looking outside of themselves. I don't think any one of them have a selfish bone in their bodies.   God bless you my friend and all of our soldiers.

Elizabeth,

Thanks for the reminder. I just watched the movie, The Christmas Card, which was a low budget movie, but I liked it. It started with a Christmas card, sent by a complete stranger to a soldier in Iraq. That Christmas card made a deep impact o that soldier and was the catalyst for some great changes in the lives of a few people. I'll send mine today.

Elizabeth, Thank you! Last month there was a donation bucket in a store front. When I emptied my wallet. One of the Veteran's began to cry, He was shocked. I told him the money was nothing compared to what he has done & could never repay him or his family.I am not sharing this to boost myself. However, just to say, OUR MEN & WOMEN SERVING & DONE SERVING, have paid such a price. So we need to make a point to watch for the Veteran's also and say thanks! The families that are currently serving here at home missing there loved ones need some hugs also. So thank you for bringing this to the table & praying for my loved ones and many more! GOD BLESS THEM ALL & EVERYONE PRAYING FOR THEM!

Hi Elizabeth -- Mindy's comments are so touching and true when we really think about what can and does happen to our men and women who serve in the armed forces.  Many of their lives and loves are changed forever, meaning way beyond their service they live with the good and bad of it.  Every year our church honors veterans and active military, and we are sending Christmas packages to the active military (some from our church) right now.  I am proud to proud to be an American, and proud to support our troops.  They are the soldiers more than the commanders and they need our prayers and appreciation.  Thanks for the post!
