Website Traffice - How to Increase

Home Stager with Salazar Staging & Custom Interiors

I have been using a website optimization service for a full year to drive the traffic to my staging services website.  I also am trying to reach a redesign market.  But I am still buried in Google and unless the searcher uses concise wording, I am not found.  Does anyone have a good service they can recommend or tricks to boost your position.  Also I noticed my site is not listed at all on Yahoo.  I need to find a link to join this and other search engines.

Appreciate any guidance on this,

Melody - I don't use an SEO service.  I do most of the work myself.  There is a group here called Blogging and SEO that you may want to check into.  Specifically check out Mary Mcknight's blog and her RSS pieces blogs (not on AR).  She is a genius.

I can tell you the hints my friend who build my website told me.

A. Repeating of keywords, gets you off google, they see you as spam.

b. Less is more, so google can crawl your site easily.

The one thing he did suggest to me when I was searching for a domaine name was....."what do you type in to look for other stagers in your area" Hmmm Edmonton Home Stagers? Bam, thats my domaine name. Eventhough it isnt my business name. It keeps me in the top 3 on google.

Its not much, but I hope it helps. I know there are groups here, you could post this question too, that would probably much more helpful.

Good Luck

Melody, the only advice I can give you is blog.  My blogging keeps me within the first 5 on google.  Also you can pay them for an ad.  Its really cheap and you will appear usually at the top of the page.  You pay per click, so if no clicks, no pay.  Good luck!

Thanks for the comments.  I have specific questions for any that can take a minute to share.

When you say blog, do you mean on AR?  How does that help?  Or should one blog in other sites as well?

What is the difference between your domain name and your business name and where do you input this info if you're not using a service?

I looked up Mary McNight on AR - no results.

And lastly, you say pay them for an ad - Pay WHO?

Melody, you've posted several blogs on AR.  Are you also posting to localism?  Thats where you click "public, members only, etc".  For that you click "public" then at the bottom of the page you have to enter your state, county, city and neighborhood. Your blogs and your comments earn you AR points which helps with the search engine optimization.  Make sure you use "tags" that represent your business such as "home staging" "home stagers" etc.  Those are what the search engines use to find you and put you high on the list.  When you appear on a google page for example, your blog shows up and if someone clicks on it that will link to your AR home page and thats where people can find out how to contact you.

Your domain name is your www. name.  Can be the same as your business or like mine they are different.

Lastly, you pay google or yahoo or MSN to put you at the top.  As I said, you pay per click, so if no one clicks on your "ad" then you dont have to pay, although you do have to give them up front money.  When that runs out, assuming you get lots of clicks, you replenish your ad account.

I'm new to all this internet marketing myself.  There is a lot of information on AR about "how to", most of which is so far over my head, I just try to stick to basics.

Thanks so much for the info.  I would like to pay google to put me at the top, but am not sure of the process.  Do you have a link to sign up?

I appreciate the facts regarding how to effectively post.

Melody, go to   Then take it from there.  I signed up for the "starter" ad and will upgrade as soon as I see it is working.  You can commit to as little as $50, less than running an ad in the newspaper which will get you nothing.
