I have always been fascinated with puppets and became a puppeteer about 35 years ago. I performed at churches, birthday parties, college campus, parks, and even once one TV for a channel in San Francisco. Once the kids started coming (my wife and I have 6 children) I had to take a REAL job, whatever that means. In my case it meant doing something I really didnt like in order to pay the bills:(
About 5 years ago I looked back on my life and asked myself: WHAT DO I REALLY LIKE DOING?
One of the first things that came to mind was puppetry. So, I took 6 months off and built a puppet theater.
I'm at the age and stage where I ask myself, "what do I want my grandchildren to say when asked, 'what does your grandpa do?'"
Do I want them to say "My grandpa is a Real Estate Broker" or "My Grandpa is a Puppeteer!"
Sorry fellow colleagues - but Real Estate Brokers are a dime dozen - I'll take PUPPETEER anyday! In the mean time, I'll sell some real estate - for the MONEy.
Here is one of my creations.
