Is it time to give yourself a check-up from the neck up?
What does it take to succeed in any business, not just the real estate industry! Determination, perserverance, persistence. Below is an article that reminds us to stay strong and not give up! Thanks Bill for the original post!
As we finish one month and begin a new one it's a good time to follow some advice from Zig Ziglar and give yourself a "check-up from the neck up".
Are you really determined to reach your goals and objectives or is goal setting just a wish list for you?Determination is what turns the ordinary agent into the extraordinary sales professional.
I remember when I was first starting out and I asked a top agent in my office how many calls he would make to a For Sale by Owner before giving up. He told me: "It depends on which one of us dies first."
Determination is what keeps us hammering away. Determined people possess the stamina and courage to pursue their ambitions despite criticism, ridicule, or unfavorable circumstances. In fact, discouragement usually spurs determined people on to greater things.
As Vince Lombardi said, "It's not whether you get knocked down. It's whether you get up again."
Determination comes in many forms. Look at Mother Teresa. The tiny nun brought world attention to the plight of the poor through her quiet determination.
The roots of American President Teddy Roosevelt's determination started with a childhood ailment. Severe asthma limited his ability to play like other kids, and as he lay in bed struggling to breath his desire to become self-sufficient fortified him. he became an avid reader and absorbed books on every conceivable subject. As a Harvard student, Roosevelt became known for his energy and enthusiasm.
Thousands of businesses that statistically should have failed are successful today because of the determination of their owners:
* In his first three years in the auto business, Henry Ford went bankrupt twice.
* Walt Disney failed in his first two attempts at starting a movie studio.
* Coca-Cola sold only 400 Cokes in its first year.
* Apple computer was rejected by Hewlett-Packard.Today we live in a culture of instant gratification, where the attributes of patience and determination are hard to find. What about you?
Are you determined to reach the levels of success and happiness you desire?
Remember: Determination is what turns the ordinary agent into the extraordinary sales professional!Thought for today: Help yourself realize your sales goals by catching yourself doing something RIGHT!
Have a productive day.
BF
