Top 10 things that are GOOD about a Minnesota Winter.

In paying tribute to the winter storm coming my way, I thought I would share with you the GOOD things about a Minnesota winter.

Top 10 Good things about a Minnesota Winter...
1) No Mosquito's
2) You are so worried about your car not starting that youdon't have time to worry about anything else.
3) All the sissies leave for Florida.
4)If you carelessly leave meat in your car, it will freeze and stay fresh.
5) It is not as bad as a Manitoba Winter.
6) There is the thrill of downhill skiing or sliding down the hill in your car on an icy road out of control.
7) Bundled up as they are, kids can fall down 3 flights of stairs and not get hurt.
8)There is ice fishing when there is a wind chill at -50 degrees.  Knowing that someone somewhere is flabbergasted at that thought.
9) Anything is better than a humid Minnesota summer!

10) Knowing that everyone in the world is looking at us wondering why we would stay here.

There you go.  Now, my brother just called and told me we may get more rain than snow...GO FIGURE!

That's pretty funny--and you are definitely looking on the bright side. Can I add that you don't have to mow or weed?

You actually found 10 things.  I bet we could find a few more if we looked hard enough.  I would not live anywhere else...Except maybe ALASKA!!!!

Vern, I am pretty sure we got more rain than snow, but we got plenty of snow, too.  Your post was great.  Keep up the good work!

Vern,

When I was at the University of Minnesota/Mpls Campus, I remember  doing a 360 degree turn on the bridge, luckily, I did not collide with anyone...it was a harrowing experience, and I was delighted to have escaped unscathed.! A

Vern, I LOVE #7 - the image of the kids who can barely walk always cracks me up.  Some how, it never bothered us as kids.  Me?  The thing I don't miss the most about living in Iowa and the Chicago area - starting the car up about and hour ahead of the time you wanted to leave after visiting the relatives, only to get in the car which still wasn't warm and the windows still weren't defrosted.  Then, getting home to run a hot bath and never get my toes warm enough.  Yep, still don't miss it, but thanks for reminding me why I moved, LOL.

Vern,  Perhaps the cold freezes in one's sense of humor as well.  Minnesota winters are not for the faint of heart.

Vern - that was hilarious. I lived above the Arctic Circle for 14 years, but not everything would apply. There, if you leave a piece of meat in the car overnight in February, you will dig out the car in May and your frozen meat would still be perfect, slightly aged.

And when you get tired of fresh meat overnight, there is always Florida...

Thanks,

On behalf of Sissies in Florida
