Sitting around wondering what to do with the green water in the pool?

green water pool contractor

While checking out a property for a client in Sacramento, I was wondering what the owners were planning on doing with the green water in the pool. They could drain the water, add chemicals to clear it up, invite a large colony of mosquitos to move in or continue to thinking about what to do until it creates additional problems down the road.

If you need help thinking about problems around your home or investment property, consider contacting a general contractor.

EEeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww! I'm glad that's photoshopped Tom! You'd have to chuck those clothes! I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing! I bet there is mosquito larvae aplenty in there! Quick to the sump pump Batman!

Ditto on Peg's comment, Tom. I wasn't quite sure how to spell eeeewwwww, well you get the idea. Really, would the chemicals really be enough?

It really is too bad w/ things like that, that the longer you wait, the worse the problem gets and the more expensive to treat.

Good morning Tom. I saw your title and wondered what was coming......however you exceeded my expectations. Great, great picture. Did you decide what to do yet?

It does look like a pond doesn't it Karen?

I can assure you, it's a pool.

Thanks for stopping in.

I've seen worse pools cleaned up pretty quite with pool chemicals. Apparently, it doesn't take much to get the correct balance back. I then wonder about being in the chemicals Roger.

If I chucked the clothes, I'd be naked Peg

It was quite a soup-like mixture in there. I'll have Alfred get the pump.  :)

I'm told that the pool could be "shocked" back to clarity. Really sounds like a chemical brew too me though.  :)

Thanks for the comment Anne.

Tom

I actually haven't seen a green pool for some time, but saw them regularly a couple of years ago, typically at vacant short sale and REO homes. Scary stuff. Some needed the EPA SuperCleanup team.

Now is probably not a good time to procrastinate Debbie. I know it's not pool season, but I've seen things get pretty expensive when these things are let alone.

Thanks for taking a look Sheila.

Come on in, the water's fine!  :)

This is going to be decided by the owners.

I've seen some of those pools that you refer to Jeff, this one hasn't reached the EPA level yet.  :)

Hi Tom - Yuck! A long time ago, I had a hot tub that would look worse than that after one of my typical parties, and I could never bring myself to treat it with chemicals, because whatever made the water that color would essentially still be in there - mine looked more like rum & coke. Drain & disinfect is the only way to go with those, unless you don't mind chemical baths.

I'm not into the chemical bath scene personally Dick.  :)

This is a pretty large pool, that's a lot of water.

All pools have chemicals in them, how bad can a little extra be?
