Carlsbad Arts – Mosaic Glass Surf Board Exhibit Featuring Cherrie LaPorte
Opening Night was February 29, 2012
February 29, 2012 was a special day, the Opening Night Reception for a wonderful mosaic glass surfboard collection by the well-known glass artist and owner of the Glass Ranch in Escondido, CHERRIE LA PORTE at CATCH Restaurant in Carlsbad Village.
MOSAIC GLASS SURFBOARDS
The exhibit is up from the 29th until March 6 and the surfboards are available for purchase (read and see more about Cherrie’s surfboard collection, her love of this project, and her inspiration for using used surfboards, her “surfboard story.”).
There was also a Silent Auction of art glass and other cool items to benefit the Bridge to Bridge Film Project. One of the paddlers, Clayton Walking Eagle, was there (see the slide show) with the kayaks they will use for the trip from San Francisco to San Diego.
The exhibit is a wonderful introduction to the art glass of this talented artist and her husband Gary Cohen, and you will surely want to visit The Glass Ranch in Escondido at 20307 Beech Lane in the Del Dios neighborhood by Lake Hodges.
The slide show below says it all.
By the way Mother’s Day IS coming up in a few months so consider attending their popular semi-annual open house event.
