OMG... The Joke's on Me. I had a little OMG moment last night when I received an anonymous not-so-nice email from a Realtor in my neck of the woods. Currently, I'm the President of my local MLS Association, and we recently notified our members of an upcoming fee increase. As a result, I've been receiving some unpleasant emails from Realtors who are understandably a little peeved. Here's the latest:
That was too funny Mel, but you had us going too. We were thinking wow, some people are vicious. Glad it was just a joke! Good luck with your fee increases.
Mel
A pay is the way to go this, when she least expects it,
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
That was a good one, and as I'm reading the "email" clip, I'm thinking the person sounds like someone who listens to Lars Larson a tad too much! LOL
Al & Peggy ~ I actually thought the same thing too... until my friend confessed... OMG!
I'm going to have to think of something really creative Lou!
Well Carla, now you got me curious... I'll have to ask my BF if she's a Lars fan!
Is your friend always this mischievious? I'm jealous - I never can even think up good April Fool jokes.
Mel...
Yeah you got burned pretty good. Sounds like your friend should have been the prime suspect, she has a wicked sense of humor.
Hi Mel,
The story had me going! Those few words, "trace the IP address of the anonymous sender," were priceless!
This just goes to show, the power of the right choice of words has more impact than emotional anger.
You're a smart cookie!
Patricia
I'll give you the same advice my uncle gave me, "don't get mad, get even!"
At least you are still friends!!!
I would have been upset at first as well, but you do have to admit she had you going. I'm glad you scared her a little bit with tracking her IP address though.
Haha, laugh out loud! That's so funny! I was wondering what is the person like who sent you the email. It must be superised you a little bit! Thanks Mel for sharing this cute story with us! You bring me a whole day happy! LOL~
Have a great week!
Hi Marte! Yes, my friend Wanda is always mischievious... but that's what I love about her ;)
Glad you enjoyed it Allison!
Wicked indeed... Richard!
Hi Patricia! I've missed seeing you around sweetie! Thanks for stopping by!
Always Kathy... I can't hold her cleverness against her!
I know... Todd, she was afraid that I was going to send her email to our entire Board of Directors... that would've been a hoot all by itself!
I never thought for a second that the emailer was my BF... Jark! Silly me!
Mel - remember that revenge is a dish best served cold...very cold. As in, she thinks you forgot aaaaallll about it.... ;)
Mel ~ ~~ forgiveness ~ like Jesus gave us the model: "He left his wrongs in the hands of the righteous Judge".
Strive to create peace, joy, love and freedom amongst your 'kingdom'. Be well...and remember: if you're driven into a cold corner...just imagine... in the opposite corner, the corner of warmth, and unconditional support are all your friends from AR (including me) to warm you up...just reach out for support...and next time, when one of us is in need we call upon you ~ we all know we can trust you, on the trenches of life.
Mel: Am I the only one who doesn't think this is funny? My suspicious mind says that not until you said you'd find out the IP address, did she own up to it. But since you call her your BF, what the heck, it MUST have been a joke. We just had a vitriolic email from an art gallery about the Carmel Art Festival, a community event I spend many hours, nay weeks, working on with no pay. So when someone rips us a new one, I get upset. Any "oops sorry" doesn't cut it with me. And REALLY, I have an excellent sense of humour just not about something I take very seriously. :-)
I laughed when I read your comment ME... ;))) Unfortunately, she reads my blog too, so I'll have to wait awhile... when she least expects it!
Peter, Peter, Peter... It was a silly joke! I'm not a vengeful soul... I'd like to think of it as playful reciprocity! But, I love what you said about Jesus... "He left his wrongs in the hands of the righteous Judge."
Oh Hella... (that sounded so funny), I wasn't laughing initially, but then you just gotta laugh after it's all said and done. But, I hear ya on the whole volunteer thing... and unappreciative souls who love to rip ya a new one... been there, done that. I try not to take any of it too seriously... and my friend keeps me sane in that way ;)
In the immortal words of Khan, Vengence is a dish served COLD. You need to plan carefully and find something really special for payback.
Well, Mel, thank God you called the right person off-the-bat. Does she know you or WHAT? That was like therapy on speed....handling every emotion in record time. Can't wait to hear the Payback Story. Love you and so glad you didn't want to kill her!
Mel, the story did have me going on a couple of levels. My Broker who sits on the MLS board gets complaints so I know what she goes through; in Illinois the powers that be have decided to eliminate all sales licencees who must transition to Brokers and Brokers must transition to Managing Brokers to maintain the same position as Designated or managing broker...confused...me too...it's just a way to get more money out of all agents...Illinois is very good at that; the con job your friend played on you is exactly what my close friends would have done...and only a close friend could get away with it...well, at least until you get them back!!
