OMG... The Joke's on Me. I had a little OMG moment last night when I received an anonymous not-so-nice email from a Realtor in my neck of the woods. Currently, I'm the President of my local MLS Association, and we recently notified our members of an upcoming fee increase. As a result, I've been receiving some unpleasant emails from Realtors who are understandably a little peeved. Here's the latest:
'So you think you can get away with raising our dues, huh? Who put you in charge anyway? I'm pretty sure that most of you guys are all from California and think us real Oregonians can't figure out what is going on. Your just like this government, just keep raising taxes to support all your little kingdoms. I don't see why we need a board anyway. Most of us can run our business with out you just fine, thank you. There's a lot of agents in this town that feel just like I do, and if you know what's good for you, you'll take your outrageous fee increases and put them where the sun don't shine lady. and how do you justify charging us more money to pay somebody to answer the phones over there $50,000 a year! that is outrageous. Most of us don't even make that kind of money anymore. And I don't see why one of you get to go on these "important" trips around the country. I think everyone of us should get to go. How about a drawing out of a hat each year so we can take a trip too. I elect Vegas. Rumor has it that there is a petition going around to stop you guys in your tracks. Be prepared!'
Upon receiving this little diddy, I immediately forwarded the email to my BF and called to get her opinion. We chatted earlier in the evening regarding several other unpleasant emails I've received in recent days, so this one would come as no surprise. My friend was very concerned and wanted to know what I was going to do. I told her I was going to forward the email to my Board of Directors for their input. Then I was going to contact my email service provider and see if they could trace the IP address of the anonymous sender. As soon as I uttered those words, my friend started laughing.
I asked, why are you laughing? She said... because I wrote it. OMG... are you friggin' kidding me?! At that point, I spewed a boat load of vernaculars that I don't care to repeat... but suffice to say that I was cussing like a drunkin' sailor! OMG... the joke's on me! I've never cussed so much, felt so pissed, and laughed so hard in one short conversation. You got me good girlfriend... but paybacks a bitch, my friend!
