Jump on in, the water is fine! That's what everyone is telling me. This is my first blog, so I am certain that I will look back on this later and run as fast as I can from it. I am also certain that if I don't just jump in I'll never write one. I have been told to just write something, anything, just something. Maybe something that I know, or just remembered-but not something that someone else wrote about. How am I to know, after all I am a "newbie" and "newbies" aren't supposed to know everything, are they? Okay, I'm ready now. Just before jumping I have a flashback to an English teacher's lectures about my lack of respect for literature and grammar! I can't do it, what if the water is too cold? I also decided to write PART ONE, in case the water is so cold that I will be forced to write a PART TWO after I am finished running away from this one. And...if you are my English teacher reading this, I am sorry in advance, can I have any extra credit work? So here we go......
We moved a few years ago from a neighborhhod named Pine Cove in the wonderful City of Rockledge, Florida. As I drove through Pine Cove today, thoughts of the good old days raced around in my head. Great neighbors, awesome friends, Christmas lights, and the home that two of my children were born and grew up in. Pine Cove, a safe neighborhood in the heart of Rockledge Florida. From that neighborhood we could head east to the beaches, or the Kennedy Space Center. Or, we could head west to Disney, or Sea World, or many other attractions. Upon arriving home, we were safe and comfortable again. While I love our new home, the old one was just fine. The good thing about old neighborhoods are that they live on in our memories forever. I don't think my old neighbors really know how much I miss them and the neighborhood. Maybe I should do something about that. Maybe after I warm up from the cold water.
