Little Blue Boxes

What flashes through your mind when you see Tiffany's robin egg blue box?

Do you think that happened by accident?

What does Tiffany's little blue box have to do with real estate?

And staging?

It's all in the packaging.

And branding.

Jackie.

Jackie ~ Great point!  As soon as I read your title I knew what you were talking about.  Even the phrase "little blue boxes" makes me think of Tiffany.

Michael - Absolutely we can all package our businesses - Tiffany & Co set's a fine example of what we're capable of.

I was thinking more along the lines of packaging a home for sale - and branding the home with the all the tools we now have available to us.

Kim - Me too!

Terry - Blue is definitely your color!  Ooops, this time the message might have been too short...it wasn't only about packaging our businesses... though that's important too!!!

Kathy - We know we're not going to be disappointed when we open those boxes right?  I'm thrilled there are stagers working so closely with Realtors(r) that recognize a staged home is akin to a little blue box and I look forward to the tipping point that I'm sure will eventually happen because the consumer knows Realtor X lists "little blue boxes".

Fran - Oh my...you don't even want to get me started here, in this post, on the benefits of Buffini Coaching and the ways my business has been impacted - talk about opening a package!  BTW, the regional meeting was great - it would have been nicer to see you there! ;)

Fernando - I'm glad you liked it.  I love that more and more Realtors(r) are working mano a mano with stagers - it's not about going cabeza a cabeza (head to head).  Again, I'm looking forward to that tipping point.

Dane- Thanks.  I had forgotten about Julea's post until I saw it pop up again, but that was a very well written post - I said so then and still agree!

Julie- Oh yeah...put a bunch of boxes in front of folks with a Tiffany box in the midst and guess which one they'll choose?  Hrrm....I'm thinking that's our version of "curb appeal".

Thank you for your kind comment, friend!

Hi Jackie,
Love the "little blue boxes".  What a marketing success for Tiffany's--all over the world people recognize their signature blue boxes.  Now, if I were just that clever?

Jackie, what a great idea...a Realtor offering the 'Little Blue Box' service! The blue box being the staging services!

You could advertise: "ask me about my Little Blue Box services to get your house sold!"

Dane - you have it.  Though the Realtor(r) may not be the party paying for the staging services (personally, I would say not - they after all do not have the greatest financial vested interest in the property), the properties they represent   in the marketplace are a cut above all the rest when they represent homes that are "little blue boxes" - or something extra special.

Jackie - You are right on the money...branding is very important. It sets the stage in someones mind and also makes them remember you...hopefully in a good way :)

Bill - Exactly.  I'm sure both of us can think of examples of companies that had great reputations that went up in flames and had to rebuild themselves in the publics eye.  Somehow though Tiffany's has managed all these years to keep theirs stellar.  Theirs is a model I've been studying for a long time.
