Streakin' Thru The Blogosphere. When I was three years old, my inquisitive nature led me on a joy-ride through the streets of the San Fernando Valley on my red tricycle. When the police found me, I was butt naked. I've always wondered how they managed to find where I lived and return me home safely.
In my later years, I quietly observed the world from the sidelines. I had a curiosity for people, places and things. I watched as others shook the apple tree, while I stood by and enjoyed the fallen fruit from my obscure corner of the world. Life seemed easy, breezy, peasy when I put on my rose colored glasses. As the years went by, my dreams of paradise faded into a cruel reality of daily drudge and dismal opportunity. I wondered, is this all there is?
Being a Spectator certainly has its benefits. There's little risk, and the wheels on the bus go round and round. But, there's something to be said for throwing caution to the wind, blazing a new trail and leaving dust clouds in the rear view mirror. I've never been comfortable with mediocrity or complacency, it's just not me. My senses are fully engaged in unfamiliar environments that are colorful, captivating, heartfelt and amusing. Grabbing life by the horns and riding the bull to the end is exciting, crazy, scary and satisfying. It's raw and real and it's definitely my comfort zone. Those who've tried to squelch my naked adventures know that I won't go without kicking and screaming.
I've recently traded my rose colored glasses for a pair of spectacles, but my adventurous spirit lives on. I suppose my insatiable thirst for paradise shall never be fully quenched. I still get naked on occasion and ride my bike thru the blogosphere of life... aka, The Naked Blogger. Fortunately, I no longer need a police escort to find my way home ;)
