"Shivering Cold" at the 2007 Cocoa-Rockledge Christmas Parade

Participants and spectators braved the "shivering cold" weather at the annual Cocoa-Rockledge Christmas Parade today.  In fact, the temperature dipped down to the upper 80's with a heat index into the 90's.  As usual, the parade was wonderful.  Something just seems to be missing with the hot weather during a Christmas Parade though.

The parade was led by the Rockledge City Council riding aboard "Old Grandma", a restored antique fire engine driven by Retired Fire Chief Richard Nix. Santa came through at the end, wishing for cold weather somewhere along the way.  All of the bands from the locals schools did an awesome job, braving the "shivering cold".

It occurred to me later in the day why so many people are moving to places like Rockledge in Brevard County.  My husband, who is the police chief in Rockledge, came home from working at the parade hot and sunburned.  As he jumped in the pool to cool off, it struck me (no, not the Nestea Plunge).  This is why so many people are moving here.  It is December 8th and it is still beach weather!  We have one of the most sought after climates in the entire USA!

Merry Christmas and it is off to the beaches!

PS-Please accept my apology for those of you who live in the colder part of this great country.
