I know I know... more social media. Ugh - I realized that we as REALTORS are inuaded with so. much. information. with regards to online marketing. I get it. But Pinterest is VERY cool - and VERY ADDICTIVE!
What is Pinterest for those of you who don't know? Basically - it's a place where you can go to be able to share as well as save all of your images that you come across on the web.
The Pinterest website reads, "Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.
Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests."
Who should be very interested in this? First of all - it's an interior decorator's DREAM! Add as many beautiful shots as you can find to your boards - as well, feature your portfolio of your work.
If someone sees a picture of yours - they are able to 'REPIN' that image - this is now featured on THEIR board - but with original credit going back to you!
Honestly, it's fun!
Now here's the best part! How do we as REALTORS use this? Well! Take a look at my board below (our real estate listings)... if you look closely, you'll see that there are price banners on each of our listings! How did I do this? Simply write a price (including the dollar sign) in the description of the image, and voila! Like magic!!
Last week - this listing that I uploaded was repinned 3 times by complete strangers! And really, that's what it's all about right? Syndication! Getting your listings noticed! You're clients will love you.
So yes, THIS is why I like pinterest (not the only reason, I also love love love finding inspiring images - there is so much beauty on the internet!) and this is why you should definitely check it out!
