What is a duet? You’ll find residential duets in Bayview Estates in Alameda CA

What is a duet? In general parlance, it means one performance by two voices or two instruments.

In real estate, a duet is defined as two individually owned homes in one building structure. Sort of like a townhouse or condo, except you only have one neighbor separated from you by one common wall. And unlike a duplex, in a duet each unit is individually owned.

I have not ever heard that word applied to real estate....here...if there are "two together" it is just called a "side by side"...I like duet better....snappier...shorter and descriptive.

Bayview Estates sounds like a great place to live and relax while watching the water.  Just the thought of living on or near water is music to this desert rats ears my friend.

Pacita,You offer a great definition of a duet. We certainly hear the term much more frequently here in the bay area. Many agents ask me ... "What is a Duet?" I'm still surprised by the number of agents who don't know what a duet is.

Sally and David -- when I became a realtor, I didn't know what a duet is either, and on our MLS, it wasn't a classification until recently. Some people have also described it as a "couplet" in the remarks -- but that was before we had "duet" as a classification.

John --- this area is amazing. There's even a large viewing deck by the water for bird watchers. Last weekend, the weather was so fabulous the place was teeming with joggers, beachcombers, etc. The day so beautiful and we had great and clear views of San Francisco without the fog.

Kathleen --- we have quite a few of these duets before there was even a name for it. Since Alameda has very little land, it's a popular option.
