Okay, yes there are many times during the day when I just want to yell "STOP" at the top of lungs usually when I feel that time is being wasted. Information comes at us faster and faster. Clients expect answers faster and faster. In fact, I recently had a client that would start sending email and text messages if I didn't return his call within 2 minutes.
The first thing I realized is that with some clients, it is more efficient to respond to questions via email. While I am lucky that I can type efficiently with all 10 fingers at about 90 words a minute (last time I was tested) but I noticed that sometimes getting the emails written were taking more and more time.
So now the question is, how can I improve on this? The answer was easy. I know that I can talk faster than I can type, so I started using my Dragon Software for my emails too. I have been using it in word processing, but hadn't tried it in email. It works as easily there as it does with word processing.
By responding to more questions via email, I have been able to provide a faster response to clients, and don't find I keep answering the same questions more than once.
My recommendation, use whatever technology you can to make the day easier.
