I had a call the other day from a veteran. He was behind on his VA loan and wanted to know what his option were. I looked up the VA advocate information for ou area, and discovered they could do nothing but shortsale at this point? He had not made a payment since Dec 2011 due to running out of work and funds. He tried to return to the Army, but was declined after 3 Iraq tours. Because he got a DUI 10 years ago when he was visiting home after graduating from basic. And knowing he had to go to Iraq when he got back to base. I was a little surprised at the lack of help he was offered. (We called from my office) They said it was to late to help. What? To late to help a guy who fought 3 times for this country in a 10 year period? This is a combat vet? All over the internet the |VA brags about how they help and "advocate" for these veterans. All we can get is "all we can do at this point, is help you short sale your home" What happen to all the other options they listed? If they would roll the delinquency to the back of the loan and reduce his interest rate a bit, he'd be fine. And WF could give a you know what about it either.(Surprise!) They kept reading a script over and over,"We are sorry for your situation Mr Veteran" I swear if I hear that again on the next call, I'm going to ask him if he's ever served his country, and to put the script down and listen to me. Just sayin. Or let me talk to someone without a script in hand or another Veteran. If they have any veterans working at the VA.
