Protect Yourself Against Weak Passwords
With all of the computer hacking and stealing of information, it's important we have strong passwords when protecting personal information. Here are some tips to follow when choosing a password.
Spammers can run scripts to try to login to accounts where they go through a list of weak passwords to try. The biggest, strongest and mightiest wall you can create to protect yourself against such devious acts is a strong password.
Anyone know what the most commonly used password is? If you guessed 'password1' pat yourself on the back. If you use a password like this please go sit in the corner for 1/2 hour. A weak password like this pretty much says "Come on in, hack me".
A combination of uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols are the recipe to a strong password. Password Meter is a great site to check your password and see if it's weak, good or strong.
WEAK example: password1
STRONG example: Pa$$w0rD8I can hear the grumbles now...."Not ANOTHER password to remember!" Well I'd rather you do this then to have someone come in and violate your personal work. You should use these tips for all your passwords, not just ActiveRain. Protect yourself and let's all get strong and build that mighty brick wall together.
Stay out spammers, nobody wants you here!!
