Sounds like a great event Mary. Rummage sales can produce a lot more money than one might think and I don't know about you but I always seem to find at least one item I can't live without. I hope your sale is super successful, no one should go to bed hungry in this great country.
Sounds like a fantastic way to raise money to fight poverty and hunger Mary! Oh... BTW... I love your new pic and shorter do!
Mary -It sounds like a great event to help a worthy cause... and get a head start on Spring cleaning.
I always encourage people to donate to Hospice or the Salvation Army centers when they are moving. These organizations do so much good and profit from the resale of the items.
This is a great post!
Nancy, this rummage sale attracts lots of the community and beyond as it has become well known. People really like rummage sales to begin with but when the proceeds go to such great causes it makes it even better.
Hi Mel it really is a worthwhile cause and benefits many. Thank for the compliment on the new do. It is really short but I can do lots of things with it. Does take a lot longer than long hair I must admit.
Hi Laura, I pray it will go very well and lots of money will be raised as well. Thanks.
Hi AJ, you are right on both counts. It does get you in the mood to do a little or a lot of spring cleaning and getting rid of.
Hi Barbara, I am like you, I try to get people to donate to the Veterans and organizations like that. We have several around here and it is also a good way to pass things on that one no longer needs. We do a lot of donating. Thank you so much!
What a great cause....I would have some things to donate if I lived nearby....I would love to browse the merchandise too!
Hi Sharon, you know it is a worthy cause and they do it every year. Lots of participation from community and beyond. It surely is fun to browse through all the things, you never know what you find that you just have to have!
Hey Mary, what a wonderful event to promote with your post. The need for food has really increased in so many communities. I wish much success for the Wilsonville Rummage Sale. ( Aren't you loving the weather? Spring is in the air - at least until later. ;)
Mary
When I was younger with nary a penny in my pocket, these are the kinds of events I frequented. My first house was furnished early attic.
Some great finds. It's true when they say one man's junk is another's treasure. May you have a successful event
Hi Debb,
There is a lot of hunger in every community and you can see it in the children in the schools. Not so good. I was loving the Spring weather, and now, the rain. It does keep our lawn green and the weeds growing like mad in the garden beds, so who am I to complain. LOL
Pacita, I too know what it is like to have nary a penny in my pocket and working two jobs to put food on the table and the lights on. These events do so much good for everyone and we do like to go and see what is there. Rarely do we come away without something in our arms. My home too is furnished a lot with "early attic" mainly from estate sales but each piece we dearly love.
Hello Ms Connie,
Thank you for the compliment on my photo. The last photo was only two years ago but since then I have let my hair go back to a natural state color wise and then I had it cut pretty short so thought it was time for new photo. Hair cut is fun and I am liking it but I do have to say it is a lot more work than I am used to.
