An interesting piece of news today, my house has been featured in the March issue of This Old House magazine! (See below, bottom half of page.) My husband and I are big TOH fans, both the TV shows and the magazine, so we entered their annual curb appeal contest this year, after completing a major overhaul on our 1920s home. We didn't win, but they decided to use our house for another article this month.
Our home, pictured above, was built in 1924 and has been in the family since the 1940s. During the renovations over the years, we have even found some of my husband's father's old toys and a school picture somehow behind a closet wall. You can read more details about our curb appeal project that I shared previously on our blog here.
It's been great fun. And surprise, surprise, we aren't done yet...the construction projects continue into 2012...
Has the DIY bug bit you this year too? Spring is just around the corner and is a great time to go ahead and get your hands dirty--it's so satisfying to make your mark on your home. And don't forget to take pictures of all your hard work! You may not be entering a contest, but think of what a great keepsake your photos will be when your project is complete.
Happy DIYing!
