Hey ... You're Blocking My View

ViewBut in a good way ... I guess.  Here in Dallas, the real estate construction season is in full swing!  From this direction, you can see another 300+ unit apartment building slowly making it's way up!  Should be completed by late summer 2012.

Could all this construction be a sign of recovery and growth?  I sure hope so!  For starters, the labor market in Texas is showing significant signs of improvement.  This past January, Texas reported its unemployment rate had dropped to 7.8% -- the lowest unemployment rate in Texas since July 2009.  Might this represent "the view of good things to come?"  Cautiously optimistic, I'm sure everyone in the Texas housing market has their fingers crossed.  I know I do.

A business friendly state, and tax payer friendly state...wish I were moving to your area.

Carie, Wonder if there are waiting renters or if this is a "build it, they will come" project?

Carie - A 300+ unit apartment building under construction brings promise.  I too must wonder like Marge if there will be renters to acquire these apartments.  Any good and positive news such as construction is welcomed as far as I'm concerned.

Karen:  Lots of benefits to living in Texas, for sure!

Marge:  Don't know for sure.  But from what I've seen lately, they can't seem to build these buildings fast enough in this area.

John:  The developers around here all seem to have big smiles on their faces :)  I'm sure the "diminishing" unemployment rate doesn't hurt the situation either!

Carie -- whenever I see a construction site -- I believe the trickle down effect for everyone is not far behind.   Here's to good news and more of it!
