Mirror, Remind Me!

I had the opportunity to sit down earlier today with me and broach some subjects in today's world that mildly interest me.  The following is the result:

Who is more powerful, the Presidency or the Media?  You know, I grew up loving conspiracies and looking into Secret Societies and who killed who and follow the money and  ... you get the gist.  At this point, I think it is the Media.  Frankly, I'd rather it be the Presidency.  Whether Obama, Lincoln, Bush, Adams, Reagan, Tyler, Clinton, or whoever decides to run Palin in 2016 ... I'd choose that over the Media.  People like to shit on the Government of "This Great Nation" and I understand that and all.  But with media, social and all, who is really in control at the end of the day?  I'd say, we probably are and continue to substantiate the very things we then choose to debate.  The mirror is the wisest invention of all.  And much more powerful than whoever is in the White House.

Peyton Manning ... where does he end up?  Miami.  Without going into my analysis of why, I'll go into something a bit more different here.  The NFL is at the top of the popularity & money game right now.  They are where Pro-Wrestling was in 1998 and the UFC was two short years ago.  That could go away fast if it isn't managed properly.  The elite are always aging and the end is always near.  America's game is Football ... and I'm not talking Soccer.  Put a kleenex to a runny nose and you'll have a pretty appreciative child.  But I bet on Peyton in Miami.

Bill Mahr/Rush Limbaugh Controversy - I actually recall listening to Rush on my own when I was younger.  And I loved Politically Incorrect on ABC.  They are entertainers and I would love to find out that a Limbaugh/Mahr vertical 69 sex tape exists.  Poetic irony for the creatures that are fast becoming nothing but poisonous to the rest of us.

Real Estate in 2012?  Personally, I think much of where Real Estate goes depends on who is living there.  Pride of ownership rings a bell.  Whether that be the landlord or the renter.  I would love to see more articles on keeping the property you live in safe, beautiful, and cosmetic.  That's one of many reasons I love reading folks like Buell, Thorton, Jay, James, & other Inspectors here on AR.  If you ask me, the key to housing recovery often times resides in the Inspectors.  If they are good at what they do, you have health of house.  Whomever is living there keeps it healthy, whether they can financially afford it or not.

The Key To Life?  A warm blanket and a understanding soul sharing it with you.

IS AR broken again? How does this NOT have comments yet? It's very thoughtful and I especially appreciate the insight on housing. As it is, we've (yes those of us in the mirror are just as guilty as the shady packagers and investors of shoddy loans) treated homes like commodities rather than our gentle abodes. Certainly there are those of us who care for our homes scrupulously and build a sturdy, if not beautiful nest for ourselves and our families. But if we ALL did that, we wouldn't be where we are.

As for Bill, Rush and Peyton.... they are all entertainers in my book and where they end up is right where they belong. Though if I were Peyton, I'd take my health and my money and run!

Btw... I positively love sharing my understanding soul with you even as you steal all the warm blankets ;-)

Sardi, I agree with Jennifer, it seems that commenting on AR is not what it used to be.  Let us hope it is all due to our being too busy from all of our sucessful blogging :)  Of course I think the last paragraph is "spot on."

Don't know about anything else you mentioned, but I do think that we inspectors will have a lot to do with how certain houses turn out anyway!  And thanks for the mention!

Smooch to Your Jennifer from me, not for any reason except you aren't likely to get one.  I'd give you a big man hug though.  And smooch to the kittens from Jenny...  she would LOVE to meet them!

That's her, just waiting.

She's a good smoocher too.

Jason, I, too, agree about the inspectors, and Jay is certainly one of my favorites here.  I don't watch TV much, but I suspect that Maher would have had a field day with Rush.

How come men always steal the blankies?  My doggie gets cold lol  I love home inspectors who do their job and are commended for it!  I personally love all the articles...I may get sidetracked but I do read them without commenting. My split personality for blogging keep leading me elsewhere.

I do however LOVE your writing...and you and Jennifer should be making $ for your posts.

As you know...we got back from vacation....and rested...in between work. I was scraping by last year....this year started with a bang. I think there is truth to going on vacation and business picking up. This was our first time so I guess we'll try it again next year and see what happens.

XOXOXO to you both!

Jason, Comments are like snow - you never really know how much you are gonna get.  I don't listened to Maher or Rush.  Maybe I catch Rush for a few minutes every month or so.  He's a little out there for me.

I'm not a football fan so I know from nothing other than the name Peyton Manning.

I do agree with you that the articles Jay writes, and some of our other home inspectors, helps those of us who still can't figure out Phillips from Flat head to have a better understanding.

The key to life is all that matters. Anyone who wants to president, they can have the job, something I would never want to do. Used to live at Arlington, Va and the perks those supposed leaders have there would make you blush. cheers cvc
