Your Report, Helpful or Just Confusing?

What the hey!!  Inspectors do reports?

I thought they were just supposed to observe and, oh yeah, report.

Wow, you're right!  And they give samples too?  Like hor d'oevres?

Report writing is something I take seriously. Many reports I have seen are not very informative or well written.  

I just finished a report for my client who is being sued for a so-called latent defect. I was asked to review the buyers inspection report. I was astonished. It was a report, but...

It listed lots of defects and details and told his client nothing. He saw and reported the symbtoms of the problem and either didn't understand what he was seeing or just didn't state it.

It wasn't just this subject area of the report, it was everting. He referred his client to 4 other professionals , coved his butt and explained nothing about the house or the systems in it.
