Lions and Tigers and Bears " OH MY"

Change the words to Websites, blogging, postcasts, "OH MY "

I have been spending alot of the holiday pondering these things. Everyone's opinion is appreciated.

1) Do I need a custom site ? Currently under Construction, basically for lead generation. Do I drop Number 1 Expert, I've had a thought to do that for a couple of years now.

2)I bought the recorder Mary McKnight recommended and the mic and have been getting familiar with the instructions. Now do I upload podcasts to I Tunes or go to a real estate specific place like 4MYSales.com ??

3) How many blogs is enough? I currently have 3 and I write in activerain, ( which is my favorite ) and copy into the others? Is this a waste.

4) I get google alerts all day on blogs that deal with leads. How do I do that so people get alerts from what I write?

5) I read Jennifer from Atlanta's blog today and she said you can show google that people have been clicking on your site just to raise the pay per click and they will credit you back. Now that is useful information.

6) I really like the RSS pieces platform and sites. I'm mulling over if I should do that or just stick with what I'm doing? Really good stuff on there.

Before anyone asks, My goal is leads and SEO for people moving to Ann Arbor to find me, without paying a arm and a leg for pay per click.

Hi Missy,

I don't have another blog than Active Rain but I have heard that search engines do not like duplicate content on blogs.  I think you can even be banned.  I think Geno Petro had something about it in one of his latest posts.

I have some articles on website lead generation here.  A great deal of bogging information in articles here.  I  recommend also that you not duplicate content on multiple blogs.

Thank you so much, Jim. I have just spent 2 hours reading your site. I also have a point2agent site.

Not my main one, but it is http://MissyCaulkTEAM.com.  I can't figure out how you blog from the site ?

If you're on the paid professional plan, there should be a link near the top on the left to start your blog.  It isn't available in the free version.  It should be in the box where you are notified of new prospects.

Hi Missy,

I doubt you would get in trouble with the search engines for double posting.  You might just link everything back to one blog or Website.  Do your posts on the site that gets the most traffic.  Measure your traffic!  which site gets indexed in Google the Best?  Post on that.  Then just post a link (use your key words) on the other site maybe with a summary.

Focus where you get the biggest bang for your 24/7 (limited time on the planet!).

Number 1 expert seems clunky to me.  It loads slow and seems old fashioned.  But..they seem to rank good in the search engines. I wonder where you would be if you invested those same resources website development, seo, video, podcasts, climbing the learning cliff etc?  It might take a year or two, but I think you would come out ahead on your own.

 Have a great new year.

Ienay Wilson, this was written so long ago in 06, I had to look back and see what I had written. Funny, some of what I wrote has totally changed and some is just now changing.
