The Mobile World of Real Estate

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty - Universal Properties

In today's real estate world, technology is everything. 95% of home buyers begin their search online, so it's imperitive that realtors stay up to date and current on all the latest advances.

Speed, photo-capturing ability, and security are crucial aspects to consider when purchasing a mobile device for real estate use, according to realtytimes.com. As busy realtors, you need to be able to access all the information and tools you need quickly and on the go. Understanding trends in today's technology world will help you do just that, and manage your time more efficiently.

Jeff Mateja is the CEO of Universal Properties at Keller Williams Realty in Portland, ME. For information about Portland homes for sale, or if you have questions about buying and selling real estate, contact Jeff at 207-553-2605.

Just curious Jeff as to where you came up with the 95% number of online users. I continue to see a dramatic difference in published numbers across the board ranging from 80% to 95% and coming from different sources.

I'm sure the percent of buyers who begin their search online has increased in the past few years, and it also varies from locale to locale.  Here in Silicon Valley I would not be surprized if it is over 90% but that may not be true in all areas.

I am seeing up to 20% of realty website visitors are coming from mobile devices, among the many dozens of agent websites that I monitor among more than a dozen brokerages.

Jeff, regardless of the percentage of what buyers are doing, real estate information is online and accessible in a ton of unique ways. The issue is often what it all means. Hopefully, that is when both buyers and sellers will select a Realtor(r) who knows their local market and can communicate using these new tools.
