Spring MeetUp Time!!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with ActiveRain, Community Manager

Put on your new shoes and go get your hair done because it's MeetUp time!

Yes that's right 'Rainers it's time to get out from behind the computer and shake a hand or two, time to embrace another friend in the 'Rain and share a smile.  We like to pair MeetUps around RainCamp so I'm not going let the cat out of the bag because the official RainCamp announcement has yet to be published...but if you want to keep the 3rd Thursday of April open that might be a fine idea.  So now that we know another RainCamp is fast approaching, it's time to schedule the MeetUps!

What the heck is a MeetUp you ask?  Only the hippest party in town baby!

WHAT:  A MeetUp is an informal get together for those interested in connecting, sharing and hanging out with other ActiveRain members and real estate professionals.  AR used to travel around the Country bringing RainCamp to one city at a time.  The greatest part was finally meeting 'Rainers face to face.  Since RainCamp is now done virtually to accommodate more participation, we have MeetUps orchestrated in different cities so members can still meet and get that live interaction that is so very special.

WHO:  ActiveRain members and anyone else in the real estate field is invited to attend.  Sometimes 30 people show up and sometimes 2 do.  Whether attendance is big or small they always seem to be a good time.

WHERE:  A relaxed environment to host participants.  A bar, restaurant, lounge, park or any other venue.  Maybe even a volunteer opportunity where 'Rainers could give back while hanging out; go out for beers or a burger after.  The "where" is completely left up to the host's discretion.  But if you do choose to set up a volunteer MeetUp check out VolunteerMatch to see if there are opportunities in your area that would work.

WHEN:  Anytime between April 15th and 21st, the week surrounding RainCamp.  Many have found success with Happy Hours or times later in the evening.  Some even meet for breakfast or host a potluck in their home.  Again, the venue and time is for the host to choose.

Step up and Host a MeetUp in your area!
Anyone is welcome to host a MeetUp.  I'm hoping to break the record of our first round of MeetUps which had over 300 amazing people in attendance.  If you'd like to host a MeetUp in your area, please email the Date, Time, Venue & Full Address to kerrie@activerain.com.  I'll soon compile an official list of all the MeetUp locations for everyone to see.  If you don't see one in your area, then step up and host.  Just pick a spot and time and let me know.  I'll continue to edit the MeetUp list as they roll in.  ActiveRain will market this through our outlets and I urge everyone to invite their friends and colleagues in their area too!  Blog about it, tweet it, Google+ and all that good stuff.

A few pics from past MeetUps

Let it Rain!

Come on let's really rock these this time around!  I'm counting on you guys to make this happen in your neck of the woods if you don't see others stepping up to host.  Like I said before, whether it's 2 or 20 people that show up, it's bound to be a good time!

This sounds like fun and such a great idea to be able to enjoy time with AR friends.  Does anyone know of anything in the Charlotte area? I notice that there are several AR participants in the area. If anyone has any interest let me know and I will be glad to help. Enjoyed reading the good comments and I loved the smiling faces in the pictures.

For Westchester, Phil Faranda & I are co-hosting.

When: Tues, April 17th 6:12pm

Where:  Uno's in White Plains - 14 Martine Ave.  (Plug in 4 Martine Ave into your GPS for free parking at the Seasons which is about 50 ft away (just grab a ticket and Uno's will validate).

Why Uno's?  Because it's convenient - right off Exit 5 of 287, Exit 21 of Bronx River parkway, 2 blocks from Metro North train station (and yes, you can get express from Grand Central).  Oh, and if it's nice, we can sit outdoors.

I guess I will have to have one.

My backyard, in The Huckleberry Hut.  Featuring a slide, three swings (one is a real tire), a trapeze and a telescope.

Let's do April 13, my birthday.  What do you say after work?

Here is a shot of the site, The Huckleberry Hut, that I took this morning by the dawn's early light.

I can't think of a more fun place to meet.
