Hi y'all in Grand Rapids...

I just want to put out a reminder that Walker Green Drinks will be having our second meeting Wed Dec 12, 2007.

This is held at the Shamrock Bar & Grill, 2501 Wilson Ave NW, Grand Rapids. This is on the corner of Remembrance and Wilson. Time? 5:30 - 8:00.

Last month it was requested we start a little earlier for those who have families/functions to attend. Come early or come late, stay a little while or stay later...it's all up to you.

Walker Green Drinks is an informal meeting where people can come together to network. You can find out more at Green Drinks International .

This is a great meeting to attend...never an agenda...just a meet and great and exchanging of thoughts between people interested in sustainability and green growth. It is social networking at it's finest.

B & BJ -- if you are in tune to the "weather system" we have right now you could fly up via Air Tran rather inexpensively...then again you could start your own chapter and I could fly down there and be warm! Thanks for the comment!

Hi Ed!

Sorry you missed it also! At some point over the next month or two we will move to either Tuesday or Thursday night. Wednesdays conflict with USGBC West Michigan Chapter, hockey games, etc! Alicia and her friend made my new picture the other day! It looks good enough to eat!

Hi Robert! We hold Green Drinks in the lower level non smoking area. I have found the Shamrock is not overly busy with the smokers in the almost separate area. You can have alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks...we've had a pretty decent showing for our first two months with different people showing up at each event. This past week we had a completely different group than we had last month. It is a great networking opportunity and we hope you will be able to join us for one! Thanks for the comment!

I love the idea, I wish that we had a pub in the area, I would even be willing to start up a green drinks group, but I need to find the right place, and I'm afraid that the drive it a bar that could draw the right folks would put the idea right out of "green" for me.

Hi Michael, Check out the www.greendrinks.org website. There may already be one near you or you can connect with a group close to you. We have had a good mix of people each time. One of the ideas put in front of Walker Green Drinks was for it to be sponsored at a model home for sale by one of the members. Not a bad idea for showcasing homes! Be creative! We actually have another group starting in the "big city" of Grand Rapids tomorrow night! Wow! two Green Drinks Groups! Thanks for the comment! Happy reNEWable year!

HI Michael - I was just reading your bio and you say "We would love to take you out for a piece of pie and a cup of Joe at the local Cafe." Maybe they would be interested in hosting it at the cafe? No one says what kind of drinks have to be available!
